Fire Pump Transfer Switches

The Fire Pump Transfer Switch, enables the functioning of electric fire pump motors with alternate power source when the normal power source fails. The process of this automatic transfer switch comes along with the electric fire pump controller. The fire transfer switch is a vital part in fire pump controller system. Fire pump transfer switch and fire pump controller combination meets the requirements of NFPA in installing Centrifugal fire pumps.

Overview of Automatic Transfer Switch :

Automatic transfer switch acts as a fast drive mechanism with the double throw switch held. In turn, this switch is interlocked mechanically and electrically in order to avoid, feeding the load at same time. And it is capable to operate manually. Operating coils are energized from a source, and the load is transferred.

Frequency and Voltage sensing devices are attached, so that it helps in monitoring the phase of alternative source which in turn provide transfer to the alternative source till adequate amount of Frequency and Voltage are obtained. With a test switch provided, the loss of normal power is simulated and so the automatic transfer switch operation is checked without interrupting any of the services of fire pump controller.

What is OEM ?

OEM is referred to Original Equipment Manufacturer. In brief, a subcontractor or a separate manufacturing sector makes the parts on behalf of the vehicle manufacturer. Most parts that are sold by the dealers are also available in some other junction with exact company name but with lower cost. OEM perfectly matches the manufacturer's product.

To become a OEM, it is important to understand the requirements first. And also responsible for the repair, return and recovery of the equipment manufactured. We do customize the services with the customer needs and offer wide range of applications.

Nearing a Century in our service, we are proud in manufacturing quality equipment and are used all over the world. We aim in serving our customers better. We have 3 main options for our valuable customers via which you

Can ask your queries and get them answered by our experts team.
Can request for a quote like Products, parts or services. Can request a callback from us.

Know all About Custom Switch Gear and Transfer Switches

Lake Shore Electrical Corporation has started the electrical switch gear business in 1922. This company is a leader in switchgear & builds low voltage, medium voltage, metal-clad switchgear and metal enclosed switchgear.

Switchgear is considered to maximize the functionality of the circuit breakers, ease of maintenance, and reliable circuit protection. All switchgear manufactured in our facility meets all applicable ANSI and IEEE standard.

A switchgear assembly absolutely enclosed by all sides with sheet metal containing primary power circuit switching, interrupting devices, or both, with buses and connections. The assembly may include control and auxiliary devices.

In Lake Shore Electrical Corporation switchgear is available with maximum voltage ratings from 4.76 kV through 38 kV, and interrupting ratings up to 200kA. Lake Shore Electrical Corp. offers a total design concept of cell, breaker and auxiliary equipment, which can be assembled in various combinations to satisfy user application requirements.

Metal-clad switchgear requires that the main switching and interrupting device to be draw out. It may be either a circuit breaker or a load-break interrupter switch. Circuit breakers are always electrically operated.  The minimum rated voltage listed in C37.20.2 is 4.76 kV. This rating is usually used on 2400 V ac circuits, but is hardly ever used at lower voltages. Metal-clad is usually considered the top of the line of medium-voltage.

Metal-clad switchgear is designed for indoor and outdoor uses. Motorized remote racking devices are provided for a means of remotely inserting or removing any draw-out circuit breaker used in switchgear to help reduce arc flash exposure.

Transfer switches are the only recognized safe alternative for connecting an electrical load to the generator for an entire business. Lake Shore Electrical Corporation offers a wide selection of automatic transfer switches (ATS), from 100 to 1600 Amperes in range.

U.L. 1008 Listed File No. E32008 is suitable for use in emergency systems; these Transfer Switches are rated for applications of 100 thru 4000 amperes, up to 600 Vac.

The Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS) has two control options classified as-
Microprocessor based controls and
Electromechanical based controls

Microprocessor controls has many control options so it is more complex as according to the electromagnetic controls. So many people prefer the electromagnetic controls as per their simplicity of problems and cost effectively.

Molded case (MC) ATS
 1. 100 to 600 Amp ( single motor ATS)
The Single Motor ATS allows the load to be connected to either the Normal or Emergency power source but it will always be connected to one of them.

 2. 100 to 1200 Amp ( double motor ATS)
The Dual Motor ATS allows the load to be disconnected from both the Normal and Emergency power sources essentially placing the load in "Neutral" position.

Insulated case (IC) series ATS
 1. 800 to 4000 Amp (Bypass isolation ATS)
The Bypass Isolation ATS allows the MAIN Normal or Emergency Side Insulated Case units to be bypassed for service while still feeding the load through that side’ssource power.
